BYD Atto 3 gets new variant lineup: Dynamic, Premium, and Superior
Previously, it was available in a single fully loaded variant
Atto 3 electric SUV’s prices now start from Rs 24.99 lakh
Dynamic variant gets a 49.92kWh battery pack, while Premium variant gets 60.48kWh
Base variant boasts an ARAI-claimed range of 468km
The Dynamic variant misses out on ADAS, 8-speaker sound system, and multi colour ambient lighting
Atto 3 also gets a new Cosmos Black colour
BYD is on a mission to expand its presence in India. They already have three cars, boasting different body styles, and have now made their electric SUV, the BYD Atto 3 more accessible. Two new variants namely, Dynamic, Premium, and the existing top-end version now renamed to Superior, have been launched starting from Rs 24.99 lakh (introductory prices).
It was previously available in a single fully loaded trim, and the new base- and mid-spec variant offer a lighter bag of features and even a smaller battery pack (Dynamic only). Let’s take a look at what the variants are all about:
Variants |
Price (ex-showroom) |
Dynamic |
Rs 24.99 lakh (introductory) |
Premium |
Rs 29.85 lakh |
Superior |
Rs 33.99 lakh |
The Dynamic variant makes the BYD Atto 3 more affordable by Rs 9 lakh. Top-spec variant is still sold at Rs 33.99 lakh, and the Premium variant slots in between the two.
The BYD Atto 3 goes heavy on the features front, and even with the new base variants, there aren’t any major decision-altering omissions. The base Dynamic variant misses out on features like ADAS, electric tailgate, multi-colour ambient lighting and an 8-speaker sound system. The mid-spec Premium variant only misses out on ADAS and adaptive headlights.

Both variants still offer niceties like a panoramic sunroof, 6-way powered driver seat, electric ORVMs with heating, 12.8-inch infotainment system, wireless phone charger, auto AC, and 360-degree camera.

The safety kit, save for the ADAS features, is identical to the top variant, with features like 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program, tyre pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX mounts, and hill descent control.
There isn’t any compromise on the premium factor of both the exterior and interior, as they share the same exterior LED lighting setup, and the same synthetic leather seats inside the cabin. The base variant only gets a smaller 17-inch alloy, compared to the 18-inch units on the higher variants.
The specifications of the mid-spec Premium variant are identical to the top-spec Superior trim. But the base-spec variant, however, gets a smaller 49.92kWh battery pack. It is paired to the same 204PS/ 310Nm electric motor, but boasts a smaller ARAI-claimed range of 468km. It has a slower 0-100kmph time of 7.9 seconds as well.

In terms of charging, the base variant misses out on an 80kW charging port, but the time taken to DC fast charge using a 70 kW charger from 0-80% is still the same as the other variants, i.e, 50 minutes.
With new variants in the lineup, the BYD Atto 3 is now a formidable rival to the MG ZS EV and this new lineup will help it fend off competition from upcoming cars like the Hyundai Creta EV and the Maruti Suzuki eVX.
