BYD’s third entrant in the Indian electric passenger vehicle segment, the Seal EV, which was launched in March 2024, has garnered over 1000 bookings across the nation. The BYD Seal is being offered in three major trims–Dynamic, Premium, and Performance–with both single and dual motor options.
The Seal features a quirky yet modern design with sleek LED headlights and C-shaped LED DRLs. The lower bumper houses additional lighting ripple elements, enhancing its unique look. From the side profile, the Seal’s sleek body contours are highlighted, sitting on aero-designed 19-inch alloy wheels, adding to the EV's dynamic appeal. At the rear, the Seal sports connected LED tail lamps designed to mimic water droplets, complementing its sleek and aerodynamic profile.
On the inside, the Seal EV gets quirky looking interiors featuring a 15.6-inch rotatable touchscreen infotainment unit and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. The central console gets a crystalised gear selector which adds to the charm of the high-tech interiors. Additional features encompass wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic silver-coated glass roof, heated and ventilated powered front seats, ambient lighting, and a premium 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system.
Safety features encompass 9 airbags as standard, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors with a 360 degree camera, ISOFIX child seat mounts and ADAS.
Each of the three variants on offer– Dynamic, Premium, and Performance – have different powertrain options. The first two get a rear-wheel-drive setup with a single e-motor, while the latter features an all-wheel-drive dual electric motor setup. Powertrain specifications of the Seal EV are mentioned below:
