EV specialist BYD has launched the Seal electric sedan in India, starting from Rs 41 lakh (ex-showroom). Offered in three trims – Dynamic Range, Premium Range, and Performance – the Seal promises a claimed range of up to 650 km in the middle variant. Bookings for the EV are underway, and here’s your closer look at the Seal in 8 images.
The Seal overall showcases a quirky yet modern exterior design. It features sleek LED headlights with C-shaped LED DRLs. On the lower part of the bumper, you also get to see lighting elements next to the air dams, adding sophistication to the design.
When viewed from the side, the Seal’s profile blends with its sporty body contours. It rides on 19-inch alloy wheels boasting a unique five-spoke design that adds to the dynamic nature of the EV.
Moving on to the rear, the Seal features connected LED tail lamps whose design resembles a water drop, complementing the sleek and aerodynamic nature of the car. Additionally, it features a faux diffuser-style trim, adding to the car's sporty appearance.
Stepping inside the Seal EV, you will be presented with an all-black interior theme with subtle ambient lighting elements throughout the cabin. The interior design is minimalist, dominated by a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that can be rotated to both horizontal and vertical position, and a sleek centre console housing a crystalised gear selector. The driver is greeted with a chunky 3-spoke steering wheel, while the luxurious interior is further enhanced by bolstered sport seats.
Apart from the large infotainment screen, the Seal EV comes equipped with 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a panoramic glass roof, powered front seats with heating and ventilation, ambient lighting, and 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system.
Safety features include 9 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounts, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS.
Each of the three variants – Dynamic Range, Premium Range, and Performance – have different powertrain options. The first two are equipped with a rear-wheel-drive single e-motor setup, while the latter features an all-wheel-drive dual electric motor setup.
