Mercedes-Benz has launched the EQA electric SUV from Rs 66 lakh (ex-showroom), adding another electric SUV to their range of EVs offered for the Indian market. The EQA is essentially based on the GLA, which is the ICE-powered version of the EQA. The EQA is currently available in a single 250+ variant only. Bookings are underway for the EQA SUV, and here’s a closer at it in these 10 images:
To begin with the design, the EQA is based on the GLA, which is its ICE counterpart. Even though both the vehicles have the same silhouette, Mercedes-Benz has given the EQA EV specific design cues, which makes the EQA look modern and futuristic. It gets an enclosed grille which gets multiple three-pointed stars (Mercedes logo). Apart from the new grille, it gets a connected LED DRL with signature LED headlights, and a new design for the bumper, which gives the premium EV a sporty appeal.
Viewing from the sides, you will notice the 19-inch aero-specific alloys, which clearly help in setting it apart from its ICE version, the GLA. Apart from that, no other changes have been made to the side profile.

The rear too has its own unique styling, thanks to the connected LED tail lights.The EQA SUV can be had in 8 different colours: Spectral Blue, High-tech Silver, Night Black, Cosmos Black, Mountain Grey, Polar White, Manufaktur Patagonia Red and Manufaktur Mountain Grey.
Coming to the interior, the EQA gets a grey color theme for the cabin with rose gold finish on the AC vents which really uplifts the look and feel of the cabin. Similar to the GLA, it gets the dual integrated 10-inch screens, but with EV-specific graphics. On the dashboard and doors, you get multiple small tri-pointed stars, reminding you in case you forget that you are sitting in a Merc.
Features onboard include, dual 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment screen and digital driver’s display setup, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a premium Burmester surround sound system, a panoramic sunroof, keyless entry, a dual-zone climate control unit, 64-colour ambient lighting, a heads-up display, and powered front seats.
Taking care of your safety are multiple features including a host of ADAS features, 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, hill-descent control, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, traction control, a 360 degree surround view camera with front and rear parking sensors,and parking assist.
The EQA comes with a 70.5 kWh battery pack which partners with a 190 PS / 385 Nm front-wheel drive e-motor and together offer a WLTP-claimed range of up to 560 km.The Mercedes-Benz EQA can do a 0-100 kmph run in 8.6 seconds maxes out at a top speed of 160 kmph.
Using a 100 kW DC charger, the EQA can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 35 minutes, while it takes 7 hours 15 minutes to charge it from 0-100 percent using a 11kW AC charger.
The EQA is priced from Rs 66 lakh (ex-showroom), and locks horns with the Volvo XC40 Recharge, Volvo C40 Recharge, Kia EV6 and BMW iX1.
