Quick Highlights

  • BYD Atto 3 to get 2 new variants, taking total variant lineup to three.

  • Three variants include: Dynamic, Premium (first two are new) and Superior.

  • The new base variant will make the Atto 3 more affordable.

  • Entry model to get a new smaller 50 kW battery pack and will miss out on some niceties.

  • Unofficial bookings are open for the new variants ahead of the launch on July 10, 2024.

BYD will be introducing two new variants for the Atto 3, which was earlier available in a single fully-loaded trim, on July 10. The three variants will be called: Dynamic, Premium and Superior. The base dynamic variant will be getting a smaller battery pack now and will miss out on a couple of features, which will help in bringing down its price.  With lowered pricing, the Atto 3 will be able to compete with the MG ZS EV and also, with the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV and Maruti Suzuki eVX.

BYD Atto 3: New Variants

The Atto 3 will now be available with  new base and mid-spec variants, called the Dynamic and the Premium, respectively.

The base variant will be introduced to lower down the starting price of the Atto 3, and will get one key change: a  smaller 50kWh battery pack (as opposed to the 60 kWh unit on higher-end versions). It will also miss out on the niceties like ADAS features, a powered tailgate, an 8-speaker sound system, multi-colour ambient lights, and adaptive headlights.

The mid-spec premium variant will be available with the larger 60kWh battery pack, but will miss out on ADAS features and the adaptive LED headlights.

BYD Atto 3: New Powertrain

As mentioned above, the Atto 3’s base model will be available with a smaller 50kWh battery pack, while the mid-spec and top-spec variants will come with the 60kWh battery pack. Both the battery packs will team up with a single electric motor that produces 204 PS and 310 Nm.

BYD Atto 3 Features

The top-spec variant of the BYD Atto 3 comes with features such as a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 5-inch digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control, multi-colour ambient lighting, and powered front seats.

BYD Atto 3 Price And RIvals

The BYD Atto 3 is currently priced from Rs 33.99 lakh to Rs 34.49 lakh (ex-showroom), but with the new variants, the Atto 3 will be more affordable, and we expect it to be priced from around Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).
