Ahead of the BYD Seal’s launch on March 5, we have obtained exclusive information about the all-electric sedan ahead of its debut. Previously, we provided you with details about the India-spec model’s variants and powertrain options available with each of the three trims: Dynamic Range, Premium Range, and Performance. In this report, we will exclusively explain the features offered with each of the three variants mentioned above.
Entry-level Dynamic Range trim kicks things off with:

Powertrain: 204 PS/310 Nm single electric motor paired with 61.4 kWh battery pack providing a WLTP-claimed range of 460 km.
Here’s what the mid-spec Premium Range trim of the BYD Seal has to offer over the base-spec Dynamic Range:

Powertrain Option: 313 PS/360 Nm single electric motor paired with 82.5 kWh battery pack providing a WLTP-claimed range of 570 km.
The top-spec Performance trim of the BYD Seal is equipped with similar features as the Premium Range trim, with the only additions being electronic child lock and intelligent torque adaption control (ITAC). Utilising ITAC, the Seal monitors wheel rotational speed to anticipate potential skidding or loss of traction. Consequently, the system adjusts torque output to maintain the vehicle’s traction in such conditions.
The Performance trim too comes with an 82.5 kWh battery pack but is coupled with dual electric motors that produce 560 PS/670 Nm. It boasts a WLTP-claimed range of 520 km.
With the introduction of the Seal, BYD is poised to broaden its portfolio alongside the E6 MPV and Atto 3 SUV. Featuring a quirky design highlighted by large LED headlights, aero-style alloy wheels, and an aggressive rear profile, the Seal stands out with its unique design. Check out its exterior and interior in detail by heading over here.
Given that the BYD Seal is expected to be a fully imported unit, it could be priced around the Rs 55 lakh to Rs 65 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. It will lock horns with other electric models such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and BMW i4.
