Bengaluru-based Ultraviolette Automotive has finally launched India’s most-awaited electric motorcycle, the F77. The company is offering the EV in three variants – Standard, Recon and Limited (restricted to 77 units only). With prices starting at Rs 3.80 lakh, this EV isn’t cheap either. Here’s a lowdown on all the variants:

The Standard, Recon and the Limited come with three levels of regenerative braking, three riding modes (Glide, Combat and Ballistic) and park assist as standard. However, as you can see, the performance of each variant differs.
The claimed acceleration figures of the Standard variant is comparable to our tested numbers of the KTM 250 Duke. Meanwhile, the Recon and Limited’s acceleration numbers are identical to that of the BMW G 310 R.

The Standard variant comes with a comparatively smaller 7.1kWh battery pack. However, it is only second to the market-leading 10.3kWh battery of the Recon and the Limited variants. And while the claimed charging times are impressive, do note that the Boost charger is optional for the Standard and Recon trims.
Ultraviolette is yet to comment on the 0-100 per cent charging time of any of the F77’s variants and the same applies for the price of the Boost charger.
Even the standard battery warranty of each variant differs, with the base trim getting a three-year or 30,000km warranty (UV Care), the Recon getting a five-year or 50,000km warranty (UV Care+) and the Limited featuring an eight-year or one lakh km warranty (UV Care Max). Do note that buyers of the base trim can upgrade to UV Care+ and the Recon customers can opt for the UV Care Max for an additional cost. Vehicle warranty remains the same at three years or 30,000km across all trims.
The underpinnings of the three trims are quite similar as they feature the same steel trellis frame with a 41mm USD fork and monoshock setup. However, while the Recon and Limited get pre-load-adjustability for the fork, the Standard gets a non-adjustable unit.
The 110/70 - R17 and 150/60 - R17 tyres slapped onto alloy wheels are also the same and so is the 320mm/230mm braking setup backed by Bosch-sourced dual-channel ABS system.
All the trims come with the same 5-inch TFT display flaunting Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. Furthermore, Ultraviolette is offering mobile connectivity with an app that offers ride history, telemetry, geofencing and remote locking.
The Limited Trim gets the aero wheel disc and lever guard as standard which is optional on the Standard and Recon variants.
Standard |
Recon |
Limited |
Rs 3.80 lakh |
Rs 4.55 lakh |
Rs 5.50 lakh |
Now, considering all the above factors, the Rs 75,000 price gap between the Recon and the Standard is justifiable. However, with a Rs 95,000 price difference between the Recon and the Limited variants, what you are essentially paying for is slightly more performance, the Boost charger, a couple of accessories and of course, the bragging rights of owning a numbered, limited edition EV.
