Hero Lectro has launched three new e-cycles called the C1, C5x and F1, which will further strengthen its portfolio in the electric space. The C1 is priced at Rs 32,999, while the C5x and F1 retail at Rs 38,999 each. The former is an entry-level road bike for beginner riders, while the latter are positioned as MTBs at the premium end of the spectrum.
In terms of commonalities, all three models feature dual wall alloy rims in different dimensions designed for rider preferences, RFID key locking, and LED modules, which display the charge status and control four riding modes. These cycles are powered by 250W BLDC rear hub motors and new lithium-ion batteries, which Hero claims cut charging times by an hour in most cases compared to the current-gen models. So you can have a full charge in 3-4 hours.
Oh, and these batteries are removable, which makes them even easier to charge and swap. It goes without saying that they come with portable chargers that can be plugged into any conventional 5-amp power socket. The battery, motor, etc. are rated dust and waterproof (IP67 and IP65).
A full charge offers a claimed range of up to 30km using peddle assist and 25km on throttle alone at 25kmph.
the automobile community
The C1 is meant for city commutes. Naturally, it’s more modest in terms of features, so it does without a front suspension setup, 7-speed gear system or off-road-centric tyres – features available in the pricier C5 or F1 variants.
Hero offers the C1 in three colours - blue, brown and white. The C5x and F1 are available in black/green and black/red, respectively. You can visit Hero’s website at herolectro.com, its 600+ dealers across the country or exclusive experience centres based in Delhi, Kolkata, and Chennai, to book either of these e-cycles.
The C1, C5x and F1 will compete with the likes of the BattRE Electric Mobility Newtron, Essel Energy GET 1, Polarity Smart Executive and the BattRE Electric Mobility Montra.
