Honda Activa Electric Teased For The First Time

Honda has teased the upcoming Activa Electric and has given us a glimpse of how the scooter’s headlight could look like. 

The headlight shown in the teaser has quite sharp edges and has a similar design language as the recently unveiled Honda CUV e. But the one in the teaser looks more compact than the wide LED headlight on the scooter unveiled at EICMA 2024. Similar to the headlight’s approach, the Activa Electric is expected to be based on the CUV e with subtle design tweaks to make it more suitable to the Indian buyers’ taste. 

The CUV e has dual 1.3kWh capacity battery packs. The claimed range is over 70km and it requires 3 hours to charge each battery from 0-75%. The motor has a peak power output of 6kW and the claimed top speed is 80kmph. A telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers form the scooter’s suspension setup and it has a 190mm front disc and 110mm rear disc brake setup. In terms of features, the base variant has a 5-inch TFT instrument console while the top-end variant has a 7-inch TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity for call and SMS alerts, music controls and navigation. 

The upcoming Honda Activa Electric will be unveiled on November 27, 2024 and is expected to be launched sometime next year with a price tag about Rs 1 lakh - Rs 1.3 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the likes of the Ola S1 Air, Ather Rizta and the Bajaj Chetak.
