It comes with a three-row, 7-seater layout, featuring rotating second-row seats with a massage function.
Powered by a 110.3 kWh battery pack with a WLTP-claimed range of 620 km.
Available in two trims: Long-range (RWD and AWD options) and Performance (AWD only).
The Hyundai Ioniq 9 has made its India debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. This three-row electric SUV shares its E-GMP platform with its sibling, the Ioniq 5, and the recently launched Kia EV9. While its launch in India is yet to be confirmed, the Ioniq 9 promises to be a luxurious and feature-packed addition to Hyundai's lineup. Here’s a detailed look at this premium electric offering.
The Hyundai Ioniq 9 takes on a more conventional SUV design with a boxy shape and upright stance. The front fascia sports a closed-off EV grille, complemented by a black strip that houses a connected LED light bar. The headlights feature straight-line LED clusters with pixelated elements, a typical design trait we have seen it with before.
The side profile showcases a gradually sloping roofline, body-colored ORVMs, and flush-fitting door handles. Silver roof rails add to the aesthetic, while the SUV is equipped with standard 19-inch alloy wheels, with optional 20-inch and 21-inch wheels available.
At the rear, the Ioniq 9 features vertically stacked LED taillights with pixelated detailing, blending into a high-mounted stop lamp on the tailgate. A black accent strip runs across the tailgate and continues along the side panels, adding a cohesive touch.
the automobile community
Hyundai offers the Ioniq 9 in international markets with 16 exterior colors, including Celadon Gray, Sunset Brown, Cosmic Blue, Abyss Black, Snow White, Gravity Gold, and Biophilic Blue, among others.
The cabin of the Hyundai Ioniq 9 combines luxury with futuristic elements. Customers in international markets can choose from one monotone and six dual-tone interior colour themes, including Obsidian Black, Dark Pebble Gray paired with Dove Gray, and Mud Gray paired with Creamy Beige.
The dashboard is clean and minimalist, featuring slim air vents and ambient lighting that extends to the door panels. A four-spoke steering wheel with silver accents sits at the center. The center console integrates terrain and drive mode controls, two cupholders, and a slidable armrest, making it accessible for second-row passengers.
The three-row configuration includes fully reclining, electrically adjustable front and second-row seats with a massage function. The second-row captain seats can swivel 180 degrees to face the third row, enhancing the lounge-like experience. Adjustable headrests are provided on all seats, and the second-row features a boss mode for increased legroom.
The Ioniq 9 is equipped with a host of features, including dual 12.3-inch curved displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, multi-colour ambient lighting, V2L technology and an 8-speaker sound system as standard, with an optional 14-speaker premium BOSE system available.
Safety features include multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and rear parking sensors and Level-2 ADAS.
The Hyundai Ioniq 9 is powered by a 110.3 kWh battery pack and is available in two trims. The Long-range variant offers both RWD and AWD options, while the Performance trim is exclusively AWD. The AWD models deliver a combined power output of 469 PS and 605 Nm of torque. These models can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.2 seconds, with a top speed of 200 kmph.
The Long-range RWD variant produces 385 PS and 600 Nm of torque, offering a WLTP-claimed range of 620 km. Using a 350 kW fast charger, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes under optimal conditions.
Hyundai has not yet confirmed the launch of the Ioniq 9 in India. However, if introduced, it is likely to rival the Kia EV9, which is priced at Rs 1.3 crore (ex-showroom).
