The 400PS EV now looks properly sporty with its de-chromed exterior and rear spoiler
  • Black Pack available on SE variant.

  • Lower-spec S variant dropped from the lineup.

  • Alexa will be rolled out as an OTA update in February.

British carmaker Jaguar has added a Black Pack option to the I-Pace electric vehicle (EV), which now gets blacked-out trim bits and wheels, and is available on the SE variant for a price of Rs 1.08 crore (ex-showroom). In addition, the carmaker has integrated Amazon Alexa connectivity for voice commands in the infotainment system.

Take a look at the variant-wise prices:

Trim Level

Ex-showroom Price

I-Pace SE

Rs 1.08 crore

I-Pace SE Black

Rs 1.085 crore

I-Pace HSE

Rs 1.12 crore

It costs barely Rs 34,000 to upgrade to the I-Pace Black from the I-Pace SE variant. For the money, Jaguar gives you a gloss black front grille, outer rear view mirrors, and rear badges. All exterior chrome trim is now gloss black for that ‘stealth’ look. The standard 19-inch wheels are replaced with split five-spoke 22-inch wheels finished in gloss black, and the EV also gets a rear spoiler and a new Ostuni White paint shade.

Black pack also gets you an all-black cabin in the electric SUV. Amazon Alexa voice commands, a new addition, are integrated into the Pivi Pro infotainment system. You can use it to control navigation, change the music, hear news or check voice messages. In addition, it also allows you to control connected devices at home. You just need to say Alexa followed by the command to activate the feature.

It’ll be available on new Jaguar cars, and even existing owners will get the feature as the carmaker rolls it out as an over-the-air (OTA) software update for compatible models from this month. You can find out how to install it on your Jag here

For now, the Black pack isn’t offered on the top-spec HSE variant of the I-Pace. Jaguar has also dropped the base S variant from the lineup, so the electric SUV is now priced from Rs 1.08 crore to Rs 1.12 crore (ex-showroom). It rivals the Mercedes-Benz EQC, Audi e-tron and BMW iX electric SUVs.
