The noise might be around Kia’s first EV for India, the swanky EV6 hatchback. But Czech carmaker Skoda might soon have an answer with the Enyaq, its first-ever electric SUV. The Enyaq iV seen in the above image is in its higher-spec 80X variant and is expected to come to India as a fully imported model.
The Enyaq iV is based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform and is nothing more than Skoda’s version of the VW ID.4 electric SUV. Internationally, the electric SUV is offered in five variants: 50, 60, 80, 80X and vRS. Depending on the model you pick, the Enyaq iV gets RWD and AWD options as well as different battery packs.
The model spotted here is the 80X, which gets all-wheel drive and the largest battery pack. Take a look at the detailed specifications:

Mind you, the vehicle spotted here is on test and the Czech carmaker is yet to finalise the variant to be launched in India.
When it comes to styling, the Enyaq iV is unmistakably Skoda with plenty of the Czech carmaker’s traditional design elements. One particular bit this author likes is the illuminated grille, which just looks uber cool at night. Even on the inside, the SUV gets a minimalist dashboard and plenty of upmarket features. The Skoda Enyaq iV is expected to go on sale in India in the coming months, and prices could start around the Rs 60 lakh mark. It will lock horns with similarly priced models like the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, Volvo XC40 Recharge, and the BMW i4.
