Porsche Taycan facelift launched.
Gets minute exterior and interior tweaks
Powertrain gets bigger battery packs and higher charging capabilities
Only two variants available for now: 4S and Turbo
Base-spec Porsche Taycan prices to be announced later
Porsche India is in the news once again, but not for the reason the entire country has been talking about of late. This time around, the headlines are made up by the launch of the facelifted Porsche Taycan, prices for which start from Rs 1.89 crore (ex-showroom). The full lineup isn’t here just yet, as only the Taycan 4S and Turbo are available on Porsche’s website, but we reckon the rest of the models will make their way sooner rather than later. Let’s take a look at what we’ve got until then:
The Taycan wasn’t a car that needed a facelift in the first place. So for this update, Porsche didn’t apply any design masterclass techniques. Subtle changes define the changes throughout the Taycan’s exterior. The front gets a new bumper, which looks cleaner and gives the front a definitive width.
Porsche says the headlights are new, but you really have to get a magnifying glass to decipher the changes here. The rear too has minimal changes with a revised bumper and tailight setup.
The sleek strip of LED light still runs across the Taycan’s rear and you get a new 3D Porsche logo as well.
The revisions inside the Taycan are slightly more significant compared to its exterior. The cabin layout is still the same, but the screen setup making up the dashboard is new. The driver gets a fully digital display, the infotainment has been updated, and there’s an optional passenger display as well.

The signature three-spoke steering wheel gets a control lever on the left side, to control the various ADAS features of the vehicle. The central console also gets a digital screen for various aircon functionalities, and its features list includes head-up display, 4-zone climate control, 14-way powered front seats with memory functions and ventilated seats.
The biggest change in the Taycan facelift comes in its powertrain specifications. All the new models are quicker and more efficient than the outgoing ones. Based on a 800-V architecture, they even support fast charging speeds of up to 320kW, which is 50kW more than the outgoing model.
Here’s a look at its technical specifications:

It can be had in both rear- and all-wheel drivetrain, depending on the variant. Although, the base-spec Taycan with the rear-wheel drivetrain is yet to be launched. The Turbo poses as the quickest model in the range, with a 0-100 time of 2.7 seconds. But there are even quicker versions (Turbo S and Turbo GT) sold abroad, and those variants could make their way to India sometime later.
Adaptive air suspension is offered as standard, and Porsche’s ‘Active Ride’ suspension is an optional extra for the all-wheel drive variants.
