Mercedes-Benz India has launched its next electric offering, the EQE luxury SUV, on our shores from Rs 1.39 crore (ex-showroom). The pure electric model comes in a single top-spec 500 4Matic trim with. It’s Merc India’s third electric offering on sale right now after the EQB SUV and EQS flagship electric sedan. So without further ado, here’s all the dope on Merc’s new stunning EV.
The EQE SUV adheres to the design principles of contemporary electric Mercedes vehicles, featuring the characteristic black panel unit that replaces the traditional grille. LED daytime running lights (DRLs) connect the headlights, while the lower grille area includes faux air intakes on either side.

The side profile is sleek with an uncluttered appearance. A subtle crease runs along the shoulder line, and the pop-out door handles sit flush with the body. Additionally, the EQE SUV offers wheel options up to 21 inches (20-inch standard), giving the SUV a robust and purposeful appearance. Connected LED tail lamps and a rugged-looking bumper round off the overall clean styling.
Inside the cabin, the EQE takes its aesthetic appeal to the next level. The dashboard features Mercedes’ Hyperscreen, with three distinct displays stretching across its width. Notably, there's a 12.3-inch touchscreen dedicated to the front passenger, mirroring the setup seen in the EQS sedan. The sleek central air vents are positioned above the screen, while the customary turbine-inspired vents adorn the sides of the dashboard.

Additional cabin highlights encompass a Burmester sound system for a theatre-like surround sound experience, a leather-free interior, and an array of creature comforts including power-adjustable seats, a four-zone climate control system, and a panoramic sunroof. It also features a bunch of ADAS features including lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring and even parking assist.
In India, the EQE SUV comes in the top-spec 500 4Matic trim, which makes use of a 90.6 kWh battery pack and feeds two electric motors which combine to produce 407PS and 858Nm. It has a WLTP-claimed range of 550km. The sprint from 0-100kmph takes 4.9 seconds and the top speed is capped at 210kmph.

The powertrain supports DC fast charging and the batteries can be replenished from 10-80% in 32 minutes using a 170kW charger. Plus, Mercedes has equipped it with air suspension for a silky smooth ride quality. Mercedes-Benz offers a 10 year or 2.5 lakh km warranty for the battery pack of the EQE SUV and it’ll only be required to be serviced once every two years.
