Mercedes-Benz has entered the entry-level luxury electric SUV segment by introducing the EQA 250+ at a price of Rs 66 lakh (ex-showroom). The smallest EV from Mercedes in India will rival its competitors like the BMW iX1 and the Volvo C40 Recharge. In this article, we compare them against each other to see which of them performs better on paper.

It is pretty evident from the table above that the BMW iX1 is larger in size by being longer, wider and taller than the Mercedes-Benz EQA and Volvo C40 Recharge. Notably though, the Mercedes-Benz EQA has a longer wheelbase, hence probably liberating more room inside the cabin.

On comparing outright performance, the Volvo C40 Recharge triumphs with 408 PS and 660 Nm, making it the most powerful in the lot. Also, with the largest battery pack here, this one offers the best balance between power and range.
With a 70.5 kWh battery pack, the Mercedes-Benz EQA, with its single motor option, delivers a claimed WLTP range of 560 km, which is more than the other two.
Notably, the BMW iX1 is more powerful than the EQA, but the battery pack is the smallest here, hence delivers the least claimed range figures.

All these three electric SUVs are at par when compared in terms of the equipment list that they pack in. They score equally in terms of comfort and convenience features as they are all features packed up to the brim. All three electric SUVs get the latest tech features including ADAS along with over the air updates for the infotainment software.

While all three electric SUVs have impressive looks and a good amount of features to keep you satisfied, it’s the Volvo that makes the most amount of sense on paper. Thanks to local assembly, Volvo has managed to undercut the EQA and iX1 in terms of pricing. The C40 Recharge also has the better specs on paper and that makes it our pick.
