Mercedes-Benz India has launched its entry-level electric SUV, the EQA, at an introductory price of Rs 66 lakh (ex-showroom). The newly launched Mercedes electric SUV will be sold in a single EQA 250+ variant and you can choose from eight colour options. For the unknown, the EQA is basically the fully electric version of the GLA.
While there is no denying that the EQA’s silhouette looks similar to the GLA, its ICE counterpart, Mercedes-Benz has made some changes to give the electric SUV its own identity.
You get a blanked off grille with small tri-pointed stars, flanking a pair of newly styled LED headlights connected by a LED light bar. The bumper has been tweaked and the aggressively styled air dams gives it a sporty look. In profile, the EQA sits on 19-inch alloys that get an aerodynamic design and the rear-end now sports a new set of connected LED tail lamps.
There are eight colour options to choose from: Spectral Blue, High-tech Silver, Cosmos Black, Mountain Grey, Polar White, Night Black, Manufaktur Patagonia Red and Manufaktur Mountain Grey.
Inside, the basic dashboard layout and design is similar to its ICE sibling, the GLA, which ain’t a bad thing as the cabin is a nice place to spend time in. You continue to get the dual integrated 10-inch screens that now get EV-specific graphics. Then there’s the rose gold finish for the AC vents that look super cool and the dash trim on the co-driver side has small tri-pointed stars.

Lastly, the driver gets to grip on an AMG-spec dual-spoke steering wheel with touch controls. It also comes loaded to the brims with features, which is what we will be talking about next.
Top features in the Mercedes-Benz EQA include the aforementioned screens, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, dual-zone climate control, a 12-speaker Burmester sound system, a head-up display, powered front seats, a panoramic sunroof, multi-colour ambient lighting and a wireless phone charger.
Passenger safety is taken care of by seven airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors with 360-degree camera, a parking assistant system, electronic stability control and ADAS.
Propelling the Mercedes-Benz EQA is a 190 PS / 385 Nm front-wheel drive e-motor that takes juice from a 70.5 kWh battery pack. This setup delivers a WLTP-claimed range of up to 560 km. Keep your foot pinned and the EQA sprints from standstill to 100 kmph in 8.6 seconds before maxing out at 160 kmph.
The Mercedes-Benz EQA’s battery pack supports fast charging capabilities, topping up from 10 to 80 percent using a 100kW charger in just 35 minutes. You can find the detailed charging times of the Mercedes-Benz EQA in this table below:
