What’s new in the Mercedes EQS?

The Mercedes EQS is the carmaker’s flagship electric sedan – the equivalent of an all-electric S-Class. Apart from its striking design and novel, cutting-edge powertrains, it brings Mercedes’ MBUX Hyperscreen user experience with a three-screen dashboard layout. It consists of a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a similarly sized screen for the passenger and a 17.7-inch central touchscreen to control various functions and features in the car.

Other than the Hyperscreen, the EQS will get heated and massaging rear seats, a premium Burmester sound system; and advanced driver assistance and active safety features such as auto emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and autonomous parking.

The new EQS sedan will become the second globally available electric vehicle to be assembled in India after the Volvo XC40 Recharge which is set to debut on July 26. Expect the locally assembled EQS 580 variant to be priced at around Rs 1.75 crore (ex-showroom).
