MG Cyberster India Launch In March, Will Be The Most Affordable 2-door Sportscar In India Due To THIS Reason

The Cyberster will be MG’s first convertible offering in India and will be sold via its premium ‘Select’ dealerships

MG Cyberster to get BaaS option in India

At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, one of the key showcases by MG Motor India was the Cyberster. It is a 2-door all-electric sports car that is set to go on sale in India via MG’s new ‘Select’ premium dealerships. We have now learnt that it will be offered with the same Battery-As-A-Service (BaaS) option as seen on other MG EVs. And that gives it a big advantage as this scheme will make the Cyberster the most affordable 2-door sportscar in India.

Currently, the most affordable convertible in India, the BMW Z4, will set you back by Rs 92.90 lakh. The MG Cyberster with BaaS could cost around Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom) when it goes on sale.

If you are interested in the upcoming MG roadster, here’s everything you need to know about it:

A Typical Looker

The Cyberster sports multiple sharp lines on its fascia. It has sweptback LED headlights and a large air dam, giving the impression that the Cyberster is smiling at you when you check it out from the dead front angle.

Its biggest point of attraction, though, is the scissor doors that we are used to seeing on swanky Lamborghinis. MG will offer it with a fabric rooftop that can be closed in just 10 seconds. The Cyberster roadster is fitted with 20-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

The Cyberster’s rear features a sharp and aggressive look, thanks to arrow-shaped LED tail lights and an inverted U-shaped light bar. A diffuser-like element completes the exterior design details of the MG EV.

How’s It On The Inside?

It gets a futuristic looking cabin, with a driver-oriented dashboard. MG will offer it with a 2-tone cabin theme with splashes of red all around and a 3-spoke steering wheel. The USP here is the triple screens, of which two screens are for the driver’s display (a 7-inch unit and a 10.25-inch unit), while there’s a 7-inch touchscreen for infotainment duties. And if you thought it ends there, wait for it as the Cyberster features a fourth screen in the centre console that can be used to adjust the climate controls.

Aside from the four displays mentioned above, the Cyberster is also provided with 6-way electrically adjustable heated seats with a memory function, and an 8-speaker Bose audio system. Its safety net comprises six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and some ADAS features as well.

Details Of Its Electric Powertrain

The gizmos aren’t the only thing that the India-spec Cyberster is all about. It’s now been confirmed that MG will be bringing the all-electric roadster with the dual-motor setup, meaning it will be offered in an all-wheel-drive (AWD) option. The dual motors are rated at a whopping output of 510 PS and 725 Nm, making it sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in only 3.2 seconds. MG will provide it with a 77 kWh battery pack having a WLTP-claimed range of 443 km.

In international markets, the Cyberster is also offered with a single motor in the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) guise, where it makes 340 PS and has a WLTP-claimed range of over 500 km.

How Much Could It Cost?

MG is likely to launch the Cyberster in March in India, at an expected price tag of Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom) with BaaS. It will serve as an electric rival to the BMW Z4.
