For the added price, you get a host of new active safety features such as Driving Assistant and Parking Assistant, and Black Pearl chequered sports seats.
What’s new in the Mini Cooper SE?
The Mini Cooper SE is unchanged in its appearance and specs, but it adds a host of new active safety and driver assistance (ADAS) features – adaptive cruise control, auto emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, and adaptive headlights. Other than that, the electric Mini also gets TPMS, Comfort Access keyless lock/unlock system and heated front sports seats finished in a brighter Black Pearl Light Chequered upholstery.
It’s still available in a single variant, and the specs are the same as before:
Power |
184PS |
Torque |
270Nm |
Battery size |
32.6kWh |
Claimed range |
270km |
The Mini Cooper SE is equipped with an 8.8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, a 5-inch MID, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger and Harmon Kardon sound system.
Mini Cooper SE charging time
Range may be a disadvantage for the Mini’s relatively small battery pack, but the hatchback is quick to juice up. A commonly available 50kWh public fast charger can replenish 80 percent of battery capacity in just 36 minutes, and the same feat takes 2.5 hours if you plug into an 11kWh AC wallbox.

Safety equipment is getting better across segments, and the Mini Cooper SE’s new features are a welcome addition. Its high price comes from the fact that it’s imported as a completely built-up unit. Currently, it has no direct rivals in the country.
