Enyaq iV Becomes Second All-Electric Skoda To Bear The ‘RS’ Badge

The Enyaq iV is the latest Skoda product to bear the famed ‘RS’ badge. In fact, it’s the second all-electric Skoda after the Enyaq Coupe iV to get the performance treatment. As with all Skoda RS cars, you get upgrades cosmetically, as well as underneath the skin for a much sportier drive. So, let’s get cracking to see what’s what. 

The Enyaq RS iV gets a performance boost, courtesy of its dual motors churning out 299PS and 460Nm, around 34PS and 35Nm more than the standard ‘80’ variant. If you manage to launch it properly, the Enyaq RS iV manages to do nought to 100kmph in 6.5 seconds before maxing out at 180kmph.  

Both electric motors are fed by a 82kWh battery pack, which is good enough to deliver a range of over 500km and Skoda says its placement under the body would aid handling thanks to low centre of gravity. Speaking of handling, the Enyaq RS iV sits on a stiffer suspension and you can even opt for the adaptive dampers.

This being an electric performance Skoda, it seems to boast green as its theme. For starters, the fluorescent green colour looks hot and befitting for this electric SUV. The bumper features ‘E’ inserts finished in gloss black for a sportier look, while the illuminated grille looks premium at night. It also gets larger 21-inch alloys and the lower suspension gives it a sportier stance.  

Inside, the Enyaq RS iV gets the same dashboard design as the standard model, albeit in a black and green theme. Other upgrades on the inside include sport front seats and a three-spoke steering wheel. It’s also feature-loaded with notable ones including a Canton sound system, a large 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system and ADAS.

Skoda is planning to launch the standard Enyaq iV in India soon. It’s likely to be brought as a fully imported model and will lock horns with the Kia EV6, Volvo XC40 Recharge as well as the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 5.
