The Cake Makka Polestar Edition looks intriguing and packs some solid bits

Swedish EV brands Cake and Polestar have partnered up to announce the launch of their latest electric moped; Cake Makka. While the scooter was already launched last year, this one’s a limited edition of the same. That said, the former was a highway-capable machine too and this one is more of an urban explorer.

A 45kmph top speed means that the riders won’t need a motorcycle license to drive it too. What makes it further impressive is Ohlins suspension; a telescopic fork & monoshock and all-LED lighting. There’s also a detachable rear carrier and for added practicality. And at 70kg, it is pretty lightweight too.

Its 1.55 kW (nominal) motor offers up to 2.8 kW of peak power. It pulls power from a 48 V and 31 Ah battery with 1.5 kWh of capacity. The removable battery should be good for about 55 km of range, making it an ideal urban runabout for cruising city centers. It can be fully charged in three hours, while 0-80 percent will take two hours.

This electric moped will be sold and delivered by Cake. At 5,300 Dollars, it’s quite a bit more expensive than the 3,800 Dollars’ price tag that the original Cake Makka carried.
