Quick Highlights:
Suzuki is going to unveil the all-new Access electric tomorrow
Will be the manufacturer’s first electric two-wheeler in India
The scooter is reportedly already in production and will be launched soon
Suzuki India is all set to unveil their first electric two-wheeler, the Access Electric, tomorrow at Auto Expo 2025. The Access electric will mark the company’s foray into the growing electric two-wheeler segment of India.
Though, Suzuki had internationally showcased the Burgman Electric back in 2023 and was even spied testing quite a few times in India. The specs revealed by Suzuki for the international-spec Burgman electric stated that it gets an AC synchronous motor producing 4kW peak power and 18Nm torque, and a claimed range of 44km. The petrol-powered Access 125 and the Burgman 125 share the same underpinnings and we think this too might be the same for the electric scooter. However, Suzuki might modify the platform to be suitable for Indian customers’ demands and requirements.
Official specs of the Suzuki Access Electric will be unveiled tomorrow, but we expect the electric scooter to have a real world range of around 80-100km on a single charge and a claimed top-speed of around 80kmph. The scooter might receive a removable battery setup which we have seen previously on the Vida V2 and the recently unveiled Honda Activa e:. Though, that could eat into the underseat storage capacity of the electric scooter. Suzuki has internationally tied up with Honda to use its swappable battery stations.
In terms of features, Suzuki Access electric is expected to get all the bells and whistles like a TFT screen, riding modes, Google maps navigation and much more. We will get to know all the specs tomorrow.
As for the price, Suzuki could price the Access Electric very competitively against the Honda Activa e: and the QC1. Other electric rivals of the Access Electric include Vida V2, Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube and the Ola S1 Pro.
