Viewers looking to get something fast and powerful have a reason to rejoice as MG Motor India has revealed the Cyberster at the ongoing Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The Cyberster will set a mark as the first all-electric sports car to go on sale in India, when it’s launched later this year. The Cyberster will also be sold through the MG Select outlets, reserved primarily for the carmaker’s premium models.
Plenty of sharp lines dominate the Cyberster’s fascia. You get a hood with muscular haunches that tapers down and the lower air inlet with the honeycomb mesh grille has multiple cuts and creases. Combine that with the swept back LED headlights on the two extreme edges, it somewhat looks like the Cyberster is smiling at you when you look at it head on.
Obviously, some sports cars are meant for showing off and the Cyberster has a super cool party trick for the same - Lamborghini-like scissor doors! The fabric roof top can be retracted down in just 10 seconds and can be operated till speeds up to 50 kmph. Meanwhile, you get 20-inch wheels and combine that with the low ride height, it has a nice sporty stance.
The rear-end is also unique, courtesy of the arrow-shaped LED tail lamps with a full-width light bar. Lastly, a diffuser-like element in the rear bumper rounds off the overall design.
Inside, the Cyberster’s wraparound dashboard properly exudes fighter jet-like vibes. Amplifying to that feel is the three curved screens comprising the infotainment system, digital driver’s display and a separate one that displays vehicle stats. And if all these screens aren’t enough, there is a fourth one in the centre console for the climate control.
The driver gets to hold a chunky three-spoke steering wheel, which gets unique joystick controls. In addition to that, there are paddle shifters to adjust regenerative braking and buttons for activating drive modes and boost function.
This being an MG, it comes loaded with all the features you would need. Highlights include the aforementioned three screens, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, power windows and an 8-speaker Bose sound system. Passenger safety is taken care of by multiple airbags, electronic stability control and ADAS.
Fans have another reason to rejoice here as MG has decided to bring the all-wheel drive version of the Cyberster to India. That means you get dual motors belting out a whopping 510 PS and 725 Nm, helping it sprint from nought to 100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds. Powering the e-motors is a 77 kWh battery pack, helping it deliver a WLTP-claimed range of 443 km.
In international markets, there is also a rear-wheel drive version available, which gets a single motor and puts out 510 PS and 725 Nm.
Pre-launch bookings of the MG Cyberster are underway and deliveries are set to commence from April onwards. One can expect it to be priced from around Rs 80 lakh (ex-showroom). It doesn’t have any direct rival at the moment, but can be considered as an electric rival to the BMW Z4.
