All-electric Tata Safari EV spotted testing, features similar design to the ICE-powered counterpart.
Features connected LED DRLs, slightly redesigned 19-inch alloy wheels and LED taillights.
Will feature a similar cabin layout as the standard Safari with four-spoke steering wheel, touch-sensitive climate control, and 12.3-inch infotainment system.
Amenities like 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, ventilated seats, and ADAS will be carried forward onto the EV.
Launch likely in early 2025 with expected starting price of Rs 32 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Tata Safari EV, a three-row derivative of the Harrier EV, has been spotted testing under heavy camouflage. From the latest spy images, we get a glimpse of the upcoming EV's design. For those wondering how we can distinguish it as the all-electric counterpart of the Safari, well, the test mule doesn’t feature an exhaust tailpipe. Let's delve into what more we can discern from the latest spy shots.
Although camouflaged, we could see that the overall design of the Safari EV will be similar to the ICE-powered model. The test mule showcases connected LED DRLs, while the alloy wheel seems slightly redesigned compared to the Safari, yet it will feature 19-inch alloy wheels like the regular model. The rear also bears a strong resemblance to the regular Safari SUV, featuring connected LED taillights.
We were unable to capture the interior of this particular test mule, but the Safari EV is expected to feature a cabin layout similar to the standard Safari. It will boast the updated interior seen with the 2023 Safari facelift, including a four-spoke steering wheel with the illuminated Tata logo, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and touch-sensitive buttons with physical toggle switches for the climate control system.

Features such as 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, gesture-controlled powered tailgate, updated 10-speaker JBL sound system, rear sunshades, ventilated seats, connected car technology, and panoramic sunroof will be carried forward. On the safety front, the Safari EV will be equipped with up to seven airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, and an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) package.
Details about the Safari EV’s powertrain specifications are still under wraps, but it is expected to boast a claimed range of around 500 km. It will be built on Tata’s Acti.EV platform, which will also underpin the Harrier EV.
We expect prices for the Safari EV to start from around Rs 32 lakh (ex-showroom) and it is likely to be launched in early 2025. It will be offered as a larger alternative (and with more seats) to the MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3, and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti eVX.
