The electric hatchback is available in XE, XT, XZ+ and XZ+ Tech Lux variants, two battery pack choices and two charging options.
The Tiago EV gets 19.2kWh and 24kWh battery pack options, which offer up to 250 kilometres and 315 kilometres, respectively, on a single charge. The smaller battery powers a 61PS and 110Nm motor, while the other motor drawing juice from the bigger pack delivers 75PS and 114Nm.
Both batteries can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in 57 minutes with a DC fast charger. With a 7.2kW AC charger, the 19.2kWh variants will be charged fully in 2.6 hours and the 24kWh variants will take 3.6 hours for the same.
Features on board the Tiago EV include a seven-inch touchscreen system, Harman sound system, cruise control, automatic AC, a digital driver’s display, dual front airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and a rear-view camera.
Tata Tiago EV is currently the most affordable electric car on sale in India without any competition. Citroen is gearing up to introduce a rival to the Tata EV in the form of the eC3 which could be priced similarly or you can look at the Tiago EV’s sedan version, the Tigor EV as a more realistic alternative.
