Multi-level regenerative braking, cruise control and advanced connected car tech will be offered.
Will continue with its existing powertrain offering a claimed range of 306km.
Likely to command a premium over the current price that ranges between Rs 12.49 lakh and Rs 13.64 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The Tigor EV has a thing or two to learn from its smaller sibling, the Tiago EV, which was launched recently. We say this because the Tiago EV’s features list is extensive in comparison to the Tigor EV’s. This discrepancy between siblings will be rectified with the help of a mild-update for the electric sedan soon.
The Tigor EV was launched back in August 2021. At that time, the EV scene in India was still in its nascent state. For its time, the electric sedan was well versed with creature comfort equipment; but fast forward to 2022, it falls short even when compared to its smaller, more affordable sibling. This is because of the launch timeline of the Tiago EV, which forayed into the market almost a year later.
Tata deployed its learnings from the Nexon EV and equipped the Tiago EV with features and technology derived from the electric SUV. With the launch of the Tiago EV over, Tata has confirmed a mild update is headed towards the Tigor EV.

The update will borrow the extra set of features offered in the new Tiago EV, including cruise control, multiple-level regenerative braking, leatherette seat upholstery, rain-sensing wipers, tyre pressure monitoring system, and connected car tech features like smartwatch connectivity. These will be added to its creature comfort list, which currently comprises a seven-inch infotainment system, automatic AC, dual front airbags, and ABS with EBD.
This update will be restricted to its features rejig, as the electric sedan will continue with its existing powertrain that comprises a 75PS/170Nm electric motor, fed using a 26kWh battery pack that offers a claimed range of up to 306km. The update is not expected to bring about any design revisions.
The Tigor EV is currently sold in three trims: XE, XM, and XZ+. The updated EV and its revised features list is likely to command a premium over the outgoing model, which is priced from Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 13.64 lakh (ex-showroom). Like its cousin, the Tigor EV might get a new variant in its lineup as well. With no immediate rival, it will continue to be an alternative to the Tiago EV and Nexon EV Prime and Max.
