Do you remember the Tata Tiago JTP? The hatchback had good enough looks and the shove to genuinely put a smile on your face. Now, the JTP will not come back, but this sporty looking version of the Tiago EV Blitz gives us serious hot-hatch vibes. Umm… could Tata be cooking a sporty version of the Tiago EV? We hope so!
The sporty version of the Tiago EV you see here is finished in white and the blacked grille, roof and ORVMs contrast nicely with the white colour. That’s not it. The gloss black wheel arches make the hatch look beefy, while the 15-inch alloys from the JTP give it a nice sporty stance. Lastly, body skirts make it look nice and hunkered down.
In contrast, the interior of the hatchback is completely… unchanged. So you still get the black/white dashboard with plenty of blue highlights. We also expect the features list to remain largely the same as the standard model, which you can read about in our launch story.
Another thing that still remains a mystery is this particular hatchback’s specifications. But here’s a quick recap of the standard car’s specs. The base option gets a 61PS/110Nm motor drawing power from a 19.2kWh battery, while the top end option is a 75PS/114Nm electric motor with a 24kWh battery pack. Its MIDC-claimed range stands at 250km and 315km, respectively.
We hope Tata brings this sportier looking Tiago EV Blitz to its dealerships. And when it comes, we hope it has more poke underneath the hood. Currently, the Tiago EV is priced between Rs 8.49 lakh and Rs 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Its only alternative is its own stablemate, the Tigor EV, though the upcoming Citroen eC3 is set to crash the party soon.
