The 5 bikes impressed us with their unique characteristics and the ability to take care of the needs of their segment’s needs

The year 2024 saw lots of new bikes entering the Indian two-wheeler market. Here are our top 5 picks from that lot:

Hero Xtreme 125R

Hero MotoCorp launched its answer to the TVS Raider 125’s reign at the top of the sporty 125cc segment. Priced aggressively, the Xtreme 125R has aggressive and sharp styling which makes it quite unique compared to any other bikes in that segment. The potent and tractable engine makes the bike fun to ride in the city and for some occasional highway rides. And the agile handling characteristics tie up the whole package very well.

Triumph Speed T4

The Triumph Speed T4 is based on the Speed 400 but it is more than just a cheaper version of the latter. Even though the T4’s motor is a bit less powerful than that of the Speed 400, it has better bottom-end torque thanks to a heavier flywheel. The mechanical throttle provides better feedback and the ride quality is plush for the most part. Overall, the Speed T4 is a great choice if you want a 400cc bike for regular city commutes and are not too bothered about outright sporty performance.

Jawa 350

Jawa-Yezdi Motorcycles perfected its classic bike with a sporty edge approach with this year’s version of the Jawa 350. The engine is much smoother and gruntier than before and the acceleration is brisk enough for quick overtakes. On top of that, the bike handles like a charm and straight line stability is quite good at high speeds too.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450

The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is based on the Himalayan 450’s platform but has tons of differentiating elements to make it stand out on its own. The low stance and the 17-inch wheels at both ends along with the striking colour options give it an attention-grabbing road presence. The motor feels quite aggressive and offers really fast performance, eager to blast away at any given chance. Also, the riding posture is more engaging than the ADV. So, overall, if you are not interested in touring with the Guerrilla, then it is a good all-rounder to take care of nearly all your needs.

Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350

If a bike has to define a certain culture, then the Goan Classic 350 is a great example. It looks absolutely stunning with the ape hanger handlebars, single-seat setup, chopped rear fender, white-walled tyres and the beautiful colour options. The smooth performance of the engine along with the relaxed riding posture makes you want to chill out and take it easy everyday you take it out for a spin.
