TVS Motor recently updated its electric scooter, the iQube Electric, with new variants that come packed with the latest features and increased performance, along with new colour schemes. The EV now offers a range of up to 140km and comes in three distinct variants. So, just what are these new features?
As mentioned above, the iQube now comes in three variants - Standard, S and ST. While the standard continues to get the same 5-inch digital instrument cluster as before, the new S and ST variants feature a much larger 7-inch full-colour TFT display. On top of this, the S gets a 5-way joystick to interact with the screen, whereas the ST variant gets a full touchscreen display.
Moreover, on the S and ST variants, one can control music on the go and receive and respond to notifications. Additionally, the ST variant gets voice assist and Amazon Alexa assistance, where you can get all the information of your scooter in the comfort of your own home.
Apart from that the instrument cluster will display vehicle health status and one can also personalise the console with multiple themes with the ability to set the wallpapers. It also gets 4G telematics and over the air (OTA) updates.
All three variants of the EV come packed with an improved battery pack. The standard and S models have a 3.04kWh Li-ion battery pack, offering a claimed real world range of 100km, and the ST variant, with its much larger 4.56kWh battery, boasts 140km of claimed real world range with a top speed of 82kmph. The single large battery pack on the ST variant frees up a whopping 33-litres of total under seat storage, in which, claims TVS, you can easily fit two half-sized helmets.
The ST variant also comes with fast charging capability thanks to an optional 1500W fast charger, and gets a much more powerful (than before) 950W charger. The standard and S variants come with the option to get either a 650W or 950W charger.
The electric scooter continues to get smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, illuminated logo near the drivetrain, an under-seat light, and a USB charging socket. Other features include Q-park assist (basically a reverse mode), multiple riding modes, day and night display, and regenerative braking.
If the TVS iQube Electric wasn’t attractive enough for you earlier, these new updates could change that. And with more range and colour options, you would expect the prices to have gone up. But, the standard variant costs around Rs 1,500 lesser than its predecessor, at Rs 98,564 (on-road Delhi, post FAME II subsidy). While the S variant is priced at Rs 1,08,690 (on-road Delhi, post FAME II subsidy), the price for the ST variant hasn’t been revealed yet. However, we believe that the price would be around Rs 1.23 lakh.
