TVS Apache RTR 310
TVS Apache RTR 310 is a 312cc sports bike with price starting from Rs. 2.49 lakh. It is available in 2 colours and 3 variants. Apache RTR 310 mileage is 35 kmpl. It can achive a maximum speed of 150 kmph. The bike gets disc brakes in the front and rear, apart from this it weighs 169 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 11 liters. Apache RTR 310 is a tough competitor to Bajaj Dominar 400, Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z and BMW G 310 R .
Pros and Cons of Apache RTR 310
- Plenty of performance - Motor is more powerful than the RR310
- Packing some segment- and world-first features
- Comfortable riding posture
- Light and responsive handling
- Shorter overall gearing means motor feels busy in lower gears
- Vibrations get annoying beyond 100kmph
- Even in Urban mode the throttle response is too aggressive
- Quite pricey once you add all the BTO kits
The TVS Apache RTR 310 is a very fun-to-ride streetfighter, which is especially enjoyable in urban conditions or on a winding mountain road. But the vibrations limit its enjoyment at highway speeds. And it gets rather expensive once you add all the BTO kits (for all its fancy features).

Most powerful naked bike from TVS
- The TVS Apache RTR 310 is the naked version of the fully faired Apache RR 310
- Comes with a streetfighter design
- It is available in 3 variants: Arsenal Black without quickshifter, Arsenal Black with quickshifter and Fury Yellow
-
A sharp streetfighter
- The TVS Apache RTR 310 comes with an aggressive streetfighter look
- It has a unique design. Its muscular look with sharp lines make RTR 310 stand out
- Both Arsenal Black and Fury Yellow colours look amazing with the u2018Apache’ decals on the fuel tank
- The tyre hugger-mounted indicators and rear number plate make the tail section look clean
- The chunky exhaust, similar to the RR 310 doesn’t really go with the bike’s sharp looks
-
Powerful and Enjoyable
- The Apache RTR 310’s single-cylinder 310cc engine accelerates quickly and easily gets to 90-100kmph
- Thanks to a larger rear sprocket as compared to RR 310, the RTR 310 has powerful low-end grunt, making it fun to ride in the city
- The motor is very tractable and can even be ridden at 40-50 kmph in fourth or fifth gears
- Even at higher revs, it has enough grunt to make high-speed overtakes on the highway
- TVS claims a 150kmph top speed, but we even saw a speedo-indicated top speed of 160kmph while riding
- The bi-directional quickshifter is super smooth, in fact one of the best we have ever tested on an Indian bike
- The RTR 310 isn’t very refined and vibes creep in even when riding at 100kmph in sixth gear
- Just like its faired sibling, the RTR 310’s throttle also feels jerky, especially in Track and Sports riding modes
-
On-point handling and grippy tyres
- The Apache RTR 310 handles beautifully, whether in traffic or corners, making it a fun bike to ride.
- The tall and wide handlebar provides better leverage and precision, and makes the bike easy to turn
- The stock Michelin Road 5 tyres, provide good grip and inspire confidence while cornering
- The footpegs scrape very easily, as soon as pushing hard into the corners
- While the brakes have enough bite, the lever feels squishy and lacks feedback
-
Stable and Smooth
- The inverted fork and the preload-adjustable monoshock suspension are soft, delivering a plush ride quality in the city
- Constantly wants to wheelie in lower gears, but thanks to wheelie control that keeps the front tyre at the ground
- The RTR 310 has plenty of braking power with a good bite
- But, the brakes lack feedback on the lever, which feels spongy
- The suspension setup feels squishy on the racetrack, but you can always tweak it to your liking
-
Sporty but not super committed
- The split seats are decently comfortable and spacious but could have more padding
- Being a naked streetfighter, the TVS Apache RTR 310 provides a comfortable and upright riding posture
- Handlebar is tall & easy to reach, & footpegs are slightly rear-set, providing a comfortable & upright riding position
- The 800mm seat height is 10mm lower than the Apache RR 310, making it easier for shorter riders to reach the ground
- All of the above-mentioned pointers make the RTR 310 easy, comfortable and fun to ride around the city
- If riders want an outright sporty riding position to attack corners, they would be better off with the RR 310
-
A feature-loaded Streetfighter
- It comes with a clearly readable 5-inch TFT instrument console
- Gets 5 riding modes, including Rain, Urban, Sport, Race and Supermoto
- The display theme/layout changes as per the selected ride mode
- It has cornering ABS, cornering traction control, wheelie & stoppie control and TVS cornering cruise control
- Cornering cruise control can hold a set speed without throttle input, but slows the bike when you lean into corners
- It even gets a seat temperature control feature, to cool or heat up the seat, which works decently
- The seat cooling/heating isn’t instant and you will have to keep the bike on for a few minutes to see the results
-
Should You Buy the TVS Apache RTR 310?
- The TVS Apache RTR 310 is a fun-to-ride streetfighter
- It is enjoyable to ride on urban roads, weekend rides and the twisties as well
- However, the RTR 310 may not be the best option if you want to go touring with your bike
- If you buy the base RTR 310 without a quickshifter then it will cost Rs 2,49,990
- But, if you go for the top variant with quickshifter, Dynamic Kit & Dynamic Pro Kit, it will cost over Rs 3 lakh
