TVS Motor Company has issued a recall of the iQube electric scooters manufactured between July 10, 2023 and September 09, 2023, which, from the sales data, should be around 45,000 units. In the recall, TVS will inspect the bridge tube of all the scooters manufactured between the specified dates.
This will happen in a phased manner with the brand or the dealers calling the customers to schedule the inspection. If found faulty, the component will be replaced at no cost to the customer.
The issue has come into light after a few social media reports and customer complaints about chassis failure in the TVS iQube. Since this affects only a specific batch, it should be a manufacturing error in a batch of the bridge tube, rather than a design flaw.
Apart from that TVS recently launched the most affordable TVS iQube and it costs less than Rs 1 lakh. Check it out here.
