Hot on the heels of the F77’s debut, Bengaluru-based Ultraviolette Automotive has pulled the wraps off its F99 Factory Racing platform at the Auto Expo 2023. The EV maker has gone all ballistic with this program to build the country’s first e-motorcycle race bike.
The Ultraviolette F99 retains the sporty silhouette of the street-legal F77, but adds some serious aero bits to it. From the winglets on the side panels and the rear-end to the face plate and the aerodisc wheels, everything screams racing.
Complementing this design is the upgraded powertrain that now belts out a respectable 50kW of peak power and hits a claimed 200kmph. Though the company has not revealed any specs yet, we reckon this is an all-new motor but is likely to be paired with the same 10.3kWh lithium-ion battery pack, to keep the weight in check.
Ultraviolette has also altered the ergonomics for the F99. So, the rear-sets are now adjustable and are CNC machined units, making the riding posture customisable as per the rider and save weight. The company is yet to confirm if the suspension is unique to the F99, but the disc brakes and the Bybre calipers are identical to its street-legal siblings. The race bike flaunts sticky Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa tyres to do justice to the performance.
During the F77’s launch, Ultraviolette Automotive had announced its plan of kickstarting its racing league in 2035. But now, with the unveiling of the F99, it looks like the racing league will happen sooner. Now the question is, where do we sign up to race?
