Most likely to be launched by the end of this year
Ultraviolette Automotive, a Bengaluru-based electric motorcycle manufacturer, has patented their second motorcycle in India. A street naked bike which will most likely be based upon the F77 Mach 2.
A New Design
The patented motorcycle has a refreshed look when compared to the F77 Mach 2. It gets a straight handlebar with knuckle guards (unlike the clip-ons on the F77) to give it a more upright riding posture. The bike does not get fairings as being a street naked motorcycle. The battery is located at the same position where an engine is on an internal combustion vehicle.
Same Underpinnings
The street naked motorcycle will most likely continue with the same underpinnings as the F77 Mach 2. It should get the same battery pack and electric motor as the F77 Mach 2. The F77 Mach 2 comes in two battery packs: a 7.1kWh and a 10.1kWh. The smaller battery pack provides a claimed IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range of 211km while the larger battery pack returns a claimed IDC range of 323km on a full charge. The battery is paired to an electric motor which makes 40.2PS and 100Nm on the top-end variant, and can do the 0-100kmph sprint in a claimed 7.7 seconds. The underpinnings will be the same as well, an inverted telescopic fork and a preload adjustable monoshock. It will get disc brakes at both ends mounted on 17-inch alloy wheels.
Updated Features
The new bike should come with an updated features list such as a touch-sensitive TFT display, Google Maps navigation and much more. The Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 is already a feature-rich motorcycle and the new naked motorcycle should get new features over the already existing ones such as 10 levels of regen, hill-hold assist, smartphone connectivity, fast charging capabilities, etc,.
Expected Launch Date and Price
The naked electric motorcycle is expected to be launched by the end of 2025 in India and would be priced just below its faired sibling, the F77 Mach 2 Recon at Rs 3.8 lakh (ex-showroom).
