From setting up a wide network of charging stations to its very own racing league, all by 2035?

Honestly, when Ultraviolette revealed its future plans at the launch of the F77 yesterday, the AV looked like a scene from TRON: Legacy. The year is 2035, the vision is of super futuristic e-bikes lining up at the ‘Ultraviolette Motodrome’ (cool name!) for a race. But, like in every interesting story, the early vision is something simple, necessary and something not too far in the future.

2024 - Dedicated Charging Stations

Yes, the F77 boasts an impressive IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range of 307km (claimed), a figure it says is comparable to one full tank of fuel on say, a KTM 390 Duke. However, in India, currently, there are more fuel stations than charging stations, hence an adventure on a 390 Duke isn’t limited to a tank full of gas, unlike with the F77 which is limited to a single charge. By 2024, Ultraviolette wants to fix this limitation with a wide network of charging stations.

2025 - Family

One year later, in the video that is, the F77 is seen riding alongside three new siblings. The Ultraviolette family in the future will consist of one new electric motorcycle and two e-scooters. The new e-bike resembles an adventure-tourer, something like the Aprilia Dorsoduro. The e-scooters too look pretty futuristic, one appears to be a maxi-style scoot, while the other looks funky like the Gogoro Viva.

2027 - Mega Factory?

Clearly, the name ‘Future Factory’ is taken, so we’re assuming Ultraviolette will have to play with a few similar options. A five-year roadmap to this step seems reasonable and logically necessary for what it plans to do next with this hub for its innovation and technology.

2030 - Become A Global Name

Going global with its products, innovation and technology are on the cards for Ultraviolette. Ola has done it too, at EICMA 2022 it revealed its plan on retailing its EVs globally, so why not Ultraviolette?

2035 - Ultraviolette Racing League

An Ultraviolette One-Make Championship? Count us in! Hope the media racing programme isn’t just for youngsters because some of us won’t be able to hide our true age by 2035, unless my new 1,000-step Korean-backed skincare routine actually works.

Ultraviolette’s plans are ambitious to say the least, but with a road map spanning over thirteen years, if not all, most of these goals seem achievable. By 2024 we’re hoping the charging network for EVs in India in general are more robust than they are today. I should be able to use my Rs 5.5 lakh electric motorcycle with the same sense of ease as an ICE for it all to make sense.
