  • Volvo received 100+ bookings for the C40 Recharge within a month.

  • Deliveries for the electric Volvo are already underway.

  • The XC40 SUV will only be available in its all-electric Recharge trim.

  • XC40 Recharge gets a festive offer packing discounts, complimentary service and extended warranty.

The Volvo C40 Recharge was launched in India back in early September with introductory prices starting from Rs 61.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The order books for the electric SUV-coupe had opened around a week prior to that and the carmaker has now announced that more than 100 bookings came in for the C40 Recharge within a month. For a luxury electric SUV, this is a good number.

These were booked at the introductory prices, but going forward, Volvo has given the C40 Recharge a bump of Rs 1.7 lakh. This takes its ex-showroom price to Rs 62.95 lakh. Deliveries for the electric Volvo are already underway and the carmaker has assured that deliveries will be given a priority.

The strong debut doesn’t really come as a surprise when you take a look at the C40 Recharge’s package as a whole. It’s got the style, the opulence, and the deceptively silent oomph – all for less than a crore.

And in light of the response to the C40 Recharge, Volvo has opted to offer the XC40 in the electric Recharge avatar only. It was previously available with an ICE (petrol) powertrain as well. There’s also a special “Festive Delight Offer” for prospective XC40 Recharge customers, which is valid only for a limited time and stock. This offers you a discount of Rs 1.7 lakh along with three years of complimentary service and extended warranty.

Volvo retails the XC40 Recharge at Rs 56.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The C40 Recharge is a tad more expensive with a price tag of Rs 62.90 lakh. Both these electric Volvos rival the likes of the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5 in the Indian market.
