Deliveries of the first batch (150 units) will commence in October and by the end of this year, all of them will be delivered. However, those who are interested can place orders for fresh deliveries. While there’s no word on when the next set of deliveries will commence, its prices are likely to be hiked next year.

The locally-assembled Volvo XC40 Recharge is available in a single fully-loaded P8 AWD variant, priced at Rs 55.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

The XC40 Recharge uses a dual electric motor setup, for delivering 408PS and 660Nm. Its 78kWh battery pack claims to offer a driving range of 418 kilometres. It’s available with an all-wheel drivetrain and can sprint from 0 to 100kmph in 4.9 seconds. With a 150kW fast charger, you can juice up the SUV up to 80 percent in just 40 minutes. A 50kW charger will take 2-2.5 hours for a full charge.

The Volvo XC40 Recharge features Thor’s hammer LED DRLs, a 12-inch digital driver’s display, a 9-inch touchscreen system, wireless phone charging, dual-zone climate control, and a panoramic sunroof. Safety is covered by six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems), which further includes auto-emergency braking, cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, and blind spot monitoring.
