“EVs are the future of mobility” is a phrase that’s thrown around a lot in the past couple of years. And while the quality of EVs has definitely gone up in the past year or two, they still have quite some ground to cover, and hence need to do some outrageous things to make us ditch our ICE vehicles.
Well, Ultraviolette has done something quite outrageous now. As seen in the video shared by one of its founders Narayan, the Ultraviolette F77, has a truck and a bus in tow and this mad electric bike manages to tow them both together. That, mind you, is a total of 15,000kg! The F77 itself weighs 207kg, meaning it’s pulling approximately 72.5 times its weight; That’s like the average human being hauling around 5075kg!
Such public tests about EVs’ battery technology and robustness will go to great lengths in making people trust EVs and see the sheer potential they have in terms of outright riding fun.
This is also exciting for us enthusiasts because Ultraviolette is cooking up the F99, a bike that was unveiled at EICMA 2023. So if the F99 is robust, has proper battery tech and does everything that it promises on paper, it’d be one HECK of a bike to ride and would put many middleweight supersports to shame. For those curious, here’s how different the F99 is from the F77.
