After seeing a bunch of electric SUVs launched in 2024, we know where manufacturers are investing their money. In 2025 well, there are plenty of upcoming electric SUVs, and one such SUV is the VinFast VF7, which made its India debut at the Auto Expo 2025. The VF7 will be the Vietnamese automaker’s first offering in India, and chances are that the VF3 and VF9 might also be introduced a bit later.

Without further ado, here are all the details of the VF7:

Design

The VF7 is a mid-size electric SUV that is almost as long as the Tata Harrier and bigger than SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Grand Vitara. It is 4,545 mm long and has a wheelbase of 2,840 mm.

Up front, in typical VinFast fashion, the logo covers the width of the bonnet, but you get the LED DRLs on it that span across the front end. The lower section of the bumper is aggressively styled with plenty of elements. The lighting bits are sharp and sleek, adding a nice touch to the front look.

From the sides, the design looks identical to the VF9 full-size SUV. You get striking alloy wheels, round wheel arches finished in gloss black and a bit of body cladding. Flush door handles add a premium touch to the profile.

The rear boasts sleek connected LED tail lights, positioned above the “VINFAST” lettering. Gloss black accents can be seen at the rear as well, and you get a shark fin antenna and a roof-mounted spoiler adding to the sporty quotient.

Interior And Features

The interior of the VF7 welcomes you with a contrasting dual-tone theme which looks plush. The dashboard is dominated by the large 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system (15-inch unit with the AWD variant), positioned above the sleek horizontal AC vents. The lower centre console houses plenty of storage options. The driver doesn’t get a separate instrument cluster, but the centre screen is shaped towards the driver and a heads-up display is also provided. The VF7 sports a nice flat-bottom steering wheel.

The VF7 gets a host of premium features, including a heads-up display, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting and connected car tech. Top safety amenities include a 360-degree camera, up to 8 airbags, an electronic stability programme (ESP), and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Powertrain

The VF7 comes with a 75.3 kWh battery pack, delivering a WLTP-claimed range of up to 450 km. Globally, the battery can be paired with either a single motor that generates 204 PS and 310 Nm, or a dual-motor setup that churns out an impressive 354 PS and 500 Nm. The former is front-wheel drive and the latter is all-wheel drive. It would be interesting if the AWD variant with dual motors comes to India!

Price And Rivals

The VF7 is expected to be priced north of Rs 30 lakh lakh (ex-showroom). When launched in India, it will give competition to the likes of Mahindra XEV 9e and the upcoming Tata Harrier EV.

The mid-size VF7 would be a Vietnamese alternative to Indian electric SUVs, thereby adding a different flavour to the segment. What do you think about the VF7? Let us know in the comments section.
