You might call it a bit absurd to compare an electric motorcycle to its scooter counterpart but we have good reason. Both the Tork Kratos R and the Ola S1 Pro are claiming to bring exciting levels of performance without compromising on the convenience and sensible stuff. The two are also the more enthusiastic variants of their lineups. And both are operating in nearbout the same price range.

These are the quickest, or claim to be the quickest, EVs in their respective classes. What doesn’t bode well for the Kratos R and its sporty credentials is the fact that the S1 Pro is actually the quicker and faster of the two. While continuous output on the Ola is higher, the Kratos does have a higher peak power rating, which should technically have helped it achieve a higher top speed. The kerb weight should factor in a bit, though, as the Kratos is 15kg heavier. We hope to put the two EVs through our usual VBox tests at our HQ soon.

Even in terms of range capabilities, the Ola seems to have the Tork beat. The ARAI and real-world figures of the two certainly give the S1 Pro the edge. Having said that, Tork has developed a more efficient motor and battery management system. Even though both products have nearly the same battery capacity, the Kratos claims to have better charging times via a regular charger. Even in terms of fast charging, the Kratos is quicker.

Here’s where the comparison becomes a bit unfair. What we shall do instead is commend both Ola and Tork for providing us disc brakes at both ends and equally criticise them for not offering ABS, settling for just CBS instead.

The more the heft, the lesser the range and performance. And lugging around 15kg more hurts the Kratos R’s case. Having said that, the Kratos R has the same ground clearance, a shorter wheelbase and a more accessible seat height than the S1 Pro. On our first ride of the latter, we did find the seat height might take some getting used to, especially for shorter riders.
Features
Tork Kratos R |
Ola S1 Pro |

Features |

Proximity lock/unlock, call and music controls, touchscreen, on-board navigation, geofencing, anti-theft alarm, Moods (different screen layouts), voice assistant, hill hold assist, cruise control and in-app Road Side Assistance |
Both two-wheelers deliver on the basic set of features that we’ve come to expect from electrics. When it comes to the special bits, the Ola once again outshines the Kratos. That said, some of the features are still to be activated on the scooters.
