However, unfortunately, the TRK 800 won’t hit the showrooms until the second half of 2022

  • Gets a 754cc engine belting out 76PS and 67Nm.
  • Has a fully adjustable suspension.
  • At 226kg, it is lighter than the TRK 502.

Benelli has just expanded its TRK range of adventure motorcycles by introducing the all-new TRK 800 at EICMA 2021. The flagship ADV from Benelli will hit the showrooms in Europe in the second half of 2022, and we have all the reason to be excited about this bike as it will likely grace Indian roads by the end of 2022 or early 2023.

The Benelli TRK 800 is a looker for sure, and that can be credited to the fact that it has been designed at the bikemaker’s headquarters in Italy. Yes, the fascia is dead similar to the Triumph Tiger 900, but let’s be honest, Benelli has pulled off the look better. Complementing the aggressive front are the body-integrated LED indicators and the long tank extensions. The combination of the flamboyant red and the matte khaki shade makes it a head-turner.

Under all that aggressive bodywork sits a liquid-cooled 754cc parallel-twin mill belting out 76.13PS at 8500rpm and 67Nm at 6500rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox paired with a slip-and-assist clutch. But sadly, there’s no fancy electronic package with the bike.

The Benelli TRK 800 flaunts equally impressive underpinnings. Its tubular steel trellis frame sits on fully adjustable 50mm Marzochhi forks with 170mm travel and a monoshock with 171mm travel. Braking duties have been assigned to twin 320mm discs up front with Brembo calipers and a 260mm disc at the rear. Interestingly, Benelli has gone for a 19/17-inch spoked-wheel setup instead of a 21/17-inch arrangement that you'd see on a true-blue ADV.

The 22-litre fuel tank and 834mm seat height assure us that the TRK 800 means serious business. Also, while its 226kg kerb weight is on the heavier side, the bike is lighter than the TRK 502 X, which tips the scales at 235kg.

There’s no word on the creature comforts on offer with the Benelli TRK 800, but we hope the 7-inch full-colour TFT console gets Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. What we know for certain is that the bike features adjustable windshield and knuckle guards.

The Benelli TRK 800 will be an excellent offering in a market like India, where the newfound love seems to be big adventure bikes. Benelli’s flagship ADV will be positioned below the Triumph Tiger 900 family, but will likely be more expensive than the Kawasaki Versys 650.

That said, the bike is still over a year away from arriving at showrooms in the country, and by then, the company will have faced stiff competition from CFMoto.
