Astra Honda Motor, the Indonesian wing of the Japanese brand, has launched the 2022 Genio 110 in its domestic market. The scooter gets a host of design, feature and technical updates for this year, and has been priced at IDR 18,050,000 or roughly Rs 93,000.
One look at the 2022 Honda Genio 110 and you are immediately reminded of the Yamaha Fascino 125 hybrid. That’s because this scooter too adapts a European styling with long, flowy lines and elegant colour options to go with. That said, the LED headlight is unique and retained from the older model. Other aesthetic updates on the scooter include golden accents on the body, instrument console bezel and the exhaust shield.
The biggest change, however, are the new wheels. Honda has downsized the wheels of the Genio 110 from the 14-inch units seen on the 2021 model to 12-inchers on the new model. The new tyres are also wider. However, the scooter retains its suspension and braking setup from the older model.
The Honda Genio continues to use the same 110cc engine producing 8.9PS and 9.3Nm. For reference, the Honda Activa 6G develops 7.79PS and 8.79Nm. The Genio has also been equipped with Honda ISS (Idling Stop System) that turns off the engine when idling and brings it back to life with just a twist of the throttle.
Honda has moved the USB charger from under the seat from the 2021 model to the apron in the new model. While the charging port is covered when not in use, the storage to keep the phone is open, leaving your device unsecured.
The Honda Genio 110 is not headed to India, but it would be a good alternative to the Honda Activa. However, if you are on the lookout for a 110cc feature-rich scooter, the newly launched TVS Jupiter ZX with SmartXonnect and voice assist feature should be right up your alley.
