Hyundai Creta Gets A Refresh For 2022 At Rs 10.44 Lakh

• Tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) is now standard. 

• The 1.5-litre petrol engine also gets a single iMT gearbox option. 

• New S+ trim level introduced for the 1.4-litre turbo petrol variants. 

• Top-spec SX(O) trims get a glossy black centre console. 

• New Denim Blue paint shade will now be available. 

Hyundai has given its compact SUV a refresh for this year with the 2022 Creta. It gets a variant rejig with new equipment and features added to select trim levels. It’ll also be available in the Knight Edition variant in two trim levels, S+ (new) and SX(O). The 2022 Hyundai Creta competes with the Tata Harrier, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq alongside the Kia Seltos. 

The Hyundai SUV has also received a relatively minor price hike, and the new prices of petrol-powered Creta are as below:

Safety and equipment updates: 

You get a Highline tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) as standard on the Hyundai Creta – a feature that was missing from the lower variants. 

In addition, the top-spec SX(O) trim levels feature a new gloss-black centre console. All variants will be available in a Denim Blue colour in addition to Phantom Black, Red Mulberry, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey and Polar White. You can get the white Creta with a dual-tone option, with a black roof in select variants, at no additional cost. 

Unfortunately, side and curtain airbags are still reserved for the top-spec SX(O) and SX(O) Knight Edition trim levels. 

New S+ trim level for the 1.4-litre turbo petrol variants: 

Hyundai has introduced a new S+ trim level for the 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine-powered Creta. It gets premium features such as a panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, 16-inch black alloy wheels, paddle shifters, metal pedals and auto-folding outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs). 

Safety features such as stability control (ESC), stability management (VSM), hill start assist and rear disc brakes are offered from the S trim level in the 1.4 T-GDI-powered Creta. 

Knight Edition: 

You can get the 2022 Hyundai Creta Knight Edition paired with either the 1.5-litre petrol engine or the 1.5-litre diesel unit. Either way, you get blacked-out exterior trim and styling elements with red accents, dark chrome emblems, black tail lamp inserts, red front brake callipers, and dark-coloured alloy wheels in 16-inch or 17-inch sizes. 

Its all-black Interior features contrast-coloured stitching and piping for the upholstery, as well as standard features such as a panoramic sunroof and LED headlights and DRLs.

The 2022 Hyundai Creta has received important revisions at a relatively nominal price hike. However, its safety updates aren’t as comprehensive as the 2022 Kia Seltos that now offers stability control, hill assist and four airbags as standard equipment across all variants. Nevertheless, upcoming changes to government-mandated safety norms are likely to bolster the Hyundai Creta’s safety in the coming months.
