Let’s just say, Mahindra will take the premium factor up a notch for occupants inside

Update: Mahindra has launched the Scorpio N and you can check its prices here.

We’ve only had a look at the upcoming new iteration of the Mahindra Scorpio a.k.a , the Scorpio N on the outside until now. By releasing a teaser video recently, revealing all the intricate details inside the Scorpio, Mahindra has not only disclosed some interesting bits, but whet our appetite as well. Here are five key takeaways from the Scorpio N’s cabin reveal:

More Civilised

While the current Scorpio commands presence, it has definitely begun showing its age. Fortunately, Mahindra has given its successor a premium feel thanks to a dual tone chocolate brown and black theme, as well as perforated leather seats. A splash of silver all around and vertical AC vents just adds the cherry on top of a commodious three-row SUV.

Multiple Seat Options

The teaser video pretty much confirms that the Scorpio N will be offered in 6- and 7-seater layouts. In the former, we’ve got two captain seats in the second row, while the latter gets a 60:40 split second -row bench. The third row seats have adjustable headrests and three point seat belts.

Digital Real Estate

As is the case with cars of today, the Scorpio N has gained some digital real estate. It starts with a semi-digital instrument cluster with the rev and speed counters being analogue, whilst the centre area being an all-digital 7-inch crisp colour screen displaying vital info such as fuel and temperature levels, distance covered, time and other important info from the infotainment system. The other bit of digital real estate comes from an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, running Mahindra’s new Adrenox infotainment OS and built-in Alexa.

Higher-spec Creature Comforts

Those going for higher-spec Scorpion N trims are in for a treat with loaded bits such as dual zone climate control, an air purifier, as well as a premium 3D Sony sound system with 12 speakers, including roof-mounted units. You’ll also notice a rotary knob which will allow you to play around with a lot of off-road goodies, limited to the 4x4 4Xplor trim that we’ve detailed in our exclusive story.

Profile Of Your Choice

When you’re having multiple people driving the same car, to readjust the car’s settings back to your preference can become an annoyance after a while. Well, the Scorpio N’s got you covered with specific user profiles. As the name suggests, you can save your preferred audio source, audio settings, rear view mirror position and more.

With the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N launching on June 27, expect a few more breadcrumbs about the SUV to be released ahead of its launch. Expect prices to start from Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom) and act as an alternative to multiple rivals including the Tata Harrier, Hyundai Creta and Alcazar as well as the Volkswagen Taigun.
