The MY2022 Volkswagen Taigun has received two standard features and a minor cosmetic revision. The changes in question include making the tyre pressure monitoring system and idle start stop technology as standard, both of which were earlier limited to the higher-spec trims.
As a result, Volkswagen says the ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency figures have seen a minor improvement on the 115PS 1-litre TSI variants. The manual variants now return 19.20kmpl (1.1kmpl more) while the automatic option can run 17.23km to the litre (0.79kmpl improvement). No changes on the 150PS 1.5-litre TSI variants, which stand at 18.47kmpl for MT and 17.88kmpl for the DSG.
That said, the 1.5-litre TSI variants, limited to the GT Line, get a small cosmetic revision. The red insert in the dashboard is now offered only in the Wild Cherry Red, unlike before where you could specify it with other colours. Now, other colours get the Armur Grey insert, which is much better and less gaudy in this author’s opinion.
Along with these changes, Volkswagen has taken the opportunity to hike the prices of the Taigun by up to Rs 61,000. Take a look at the revised prices:
