Yamaha has unveiled the XSR125 Legacy Edition, its neo-retro motorcycle, in Europe. The bike gets a bunch of cosmetic updates that make it look even more retro and snazzier than before, inspired by Yamaha’s Sports heritage line. Here is what it gets.
In terms of design, the XSR125 retains the neo-retro styling as the previous model with a beefy fuel tank, circular LED headlight and an upright handlebar. What’s new, however, is the Historic Black paint scheme complemented by the gold and silver pinstripe graphics on the body. It looks flashy, yet sleek and clean. Adding on to that, the Legacy Edition also gets spoked wheels with rims dipped in gold that just scream with retro charm. The outgoing model featured black alloy wheels.
Apart from that, the bike features a slightly redesigned exhaust with a two-piece aluminium muffler cover that complements its neo-retro appeal. Even the USD fork up front is given a black finish to match the dark theme of the bike. The XSR125 Legacy Edition rolls on high performance Metzeler Karoo block pattern tyres.
Powering this neo-retro motorcycle is the same 125cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with VVA (variable valve actuation) producing 14.95PS and 11.5Nm, also found on the standard XSR125.
Currently, the XSR125 Legacy Edition will only be available in the UK market from June 2022, and will most likely be priced around 5,050 Euros (around Rs 4.18 lakh), an incredibly high price for a 125cc motorcycle. The standard XSR125 is priced at 4,550 Euros (Rs 3.76 lakh). The bike will not be heading to our shores any time soon, but you can check out the very capable 125cc bikes available here in India like the TVS Raider, Honda SP125, Hero Glamour 125 and the Bajaj Pulsar 125.
