- The styling changes make the scooter look quite edgy
The Hero Destini 125 is about to receive an update in the next few days. Before that, Hero MotoCorp has teased the 2024 model again, possibly for the final time ahead of its launch.
The latest teaser has confirmed that the scooter gets an LED projector headlight with DRLs. The headlight and the surrounding cowl has been completely redesigned with the chrome elements surrounding the headlight now gone on the upcoming model. The whole front apron has received styling changes with the big, triangular indicators being replaced by much sleeker looking units with a distinct H-shaped pattern around them. The sharp design lines make the front-end look quite edgy.
Overall, the 2024 Hero Destini 125 has gotten boxier than the current model. The scooter gets a redesigned exhaust that is shorter in length and looks stubbier than the one on the current model. The grab rail is chunky and the scooter also gets a pillion backrest. The taillight is an LED unit as well. The changes in design have made the scooter look very fresh and will certainly make it more appealing to prospective buyers.
The 2024 Destini 125 is expected to be powered by the same 124.6cc, single-cylinder engine found in the current model. It makes 9PS at 7000rpm and 10.4Nm at 5500rpm. The suspension setup consists of a telescopic fork and a monoshock. As revealed in a previous teaser, the upcoming model gets a front disc brake and it is expected to get a drum brake at the rear. The same semi-digital instrument console seen on the current Xtec model is expected to be carried over to the 2024 model. It has an analogue speedometer and a digital inset that shows readouts such as trip meter, odometer, fuel gauge and gets Bluetooth connectivity for call and SMS alerts.
Currently, the Hero Destini 125’s base variant has a price tag of Rs 80,048 while the Xtec variant is priced at Rs 86,538. The upcoming model’s base variant is expected to cost about Rs 85,000 and the top-end variant is expected to cost about Rs 90,000 (all ex-showroom Delhi). Its rivals will be the Honda Activa 125, Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid, Suzuki Access 125 and TVS Jupiter 125.
