The 2024 Kia Sonet facelift is inching closer to its launch. We know pretty much everything there is to know about the facelifted sub-4m SUV. And now, the carmaker has revealed its claimed fuel efficiency figures as well. There are multiple powertrains on offer and the claimed figures pack a few unexpected surprises as well. 

So without further ado, here are the fuel efficiency figures of each of the Sonet’s engines with their respective gearbox combinations:

But before we dive right into the fuel efficiency numbers, here are the engine options and their respective specifications offered with the 2024 Sonet: 120 PS/172 Nm 1-litre turbo-petrol, 116 PS/250 Nm 1.5-litre diesel, 83 PS/115 Nm 1.2-litre NA petrol. The 1.5-litre diesel engine with the iMT gearbox topping the fuel efficiency charts doesn’t come as a surprise. But it's between the turbo-petrol engine that packs the shocker.

Paired with the DCT gearbox, the turbo-petrol claims a slightly better fuel efficiency of 19.2kmpl than the naturally aspirated petrol-manual combo, which boasts a figure of 18.83kmpl. Another shocker comes in the form of the fuel efficiency of the turbo-petrol automatic beating the diesel automatic’s fuel efficiency (18.6kmpl) figure, even if the margin is negligible. The diesel-manual model’s kitna deti hai numbers are not yet available as it’s undergoing certification. 

Do note that these are claimed figures and the real-world figures will vary largely depending on your usage and work case. However, do keep an eye out for our road test to see how it performs in the real world.
