2024 Tata Altroz Racer: Every Detail In 10 Images

The Altroz Racer gets a sportier looking exterior, new features and a more powerful engine

The Tata Altroz Racer, which is the sportier version of the Altroz, has been launched from Rs 9.49 lakh to Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Altroz Racer looks sportier than the standard Altroz, thanks to the white stripes and the black-coloured bonnet and roof. Apart from cosmetic upgrades, it also gets new features and a more powerful engine, which is sourced from the Nexon. In this report, we are going to take you through its design, interior, features, and specifications:

Design

Designwise, the changes for the Altroz Racer are cosmetic only, and the silhouette looks identical to the standard Altroz. The front gets a black bonnet with white stripes on it, which has a checkered flag on the roof.

Viewing it from the sides, it features the same design for the alloys, but it is finished in a darker shade. The ‘Racer’ badging is placed on the front fender.

The hatchback gets 3 dual-tone color options: Avenue White, Pure Grey and Atomic Orange. Colours like black, red and blue could've made things more interesting.

Moving to the rear, the Altroz Racer is completely identical to the standard version of the Altroz, but it does sport dual exhaust tips

Interior And Features

The sportier iteration of the Altroz features an all-black dashboard with orange inserts and ambient lighting which add to the sporty appeal. Orange and white stripes are found on the leatherette seats which are also finished in a black shade. Look carefully and you will notice that the Altroz Racer’s gear knob has been carried over from the Nexon.

The sportier Altroz also comes equipped with a host of new features, including a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera and six airbags (standard).

Features carried over from the standard Altroz include automatic climate control, an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a sunroof, a wireless phone charger, rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, and ABS with EBD.

Powertrain

Underneath the hood, the ‘hot’ hatch gets a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine which is borrowed from the Nexon and produces 120 PS and 170 Nm. The Racer comes equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission instead of the 5-speed unit of the Altroz i-Turbo. We expect the Altroz Racer to be offered with an automatic transmission in the future.

Price And Rivals

The Altroz Racer gets three variants: R1, R2, and R3, which are priced from Rs 9.49 lakh to Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It locks horns with the Hyundai i20 N Line, while being a sportier alternative to the Maruti Baleno and Toyota Glanza.
