The sportier iteration of the Tata Altroz, the Altroz Racer, has reached some of the dealerships ahead of its launch on June 7, 2024. Bookings are now open for the sporty hatchback, which will be offered with plenty of new features and a more powerful engine borrowed from the Nexon. Test drives for the Hyundai i20 N Line rival are expected to begin soon after the launch.
The only thing which helps to distinguish its design from the standard Altroz is the black roof and bonnet along with the white stripes, which add a touch of sportiness to the hatchback. The Altroz Racer is available in 3 dual-tone colours: Atomic Orange, Avenue White, and Pure Grey. The design for the alloys are the same as the standard Altroz, but get a darker finish. You also get the “Racer” badging on the fender.

The Altroz Racer will come with new features, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, a heads-up display, ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera and 6 airbags as standard. To take a closer look at the variant-wise features, head over to our story.
Underneath the hood, it gets a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine which produces 120 PS and 170 Nm. The Altroz Racer will be offered with a manual gearbox only, which in question will be a 6-speed unit. However, we do expect Tata to introduce an automatic transmission in the future.
The Altroz Racer is expected to come at a premium over the standard Altroz, which is priced from Rs 6.64 lakh to Rs 10.79 lakh (ex-showroom). The Altroz Racer directly rivals the Hyundai i20 N Line, while being a sportier alternative to the Maruti Baleno and Toyota Glanza.
