Yamaha India has launched the 2024 Monster Energy MotoGP Edition models of the R15M and the MT-15. The special colour variant of the R15M is priced at Rs 1,98,800 while that of the MT-15 costs Rs 1,73,400 (both ex-showroom Delhi). These two models will be exclusively available at Yamaha’s Blue Square showrooms across the country.

The Yamaha R15M gets Monster Energy badging on the headlight cowl and fairing. The bike gets a primary black paint scheme with blue graphics on the fuel tank and the fairing. The Mt-15 also gets a primary black paint with Monster Energy badging on the fuel tank and the tank extensions. Overall, the new colour schemes make both bikes look even sportier and aggressive than they normally look.

Apart from the colour schemes, the rest of the bikes have remained unchanged. The Yamaha R15M is powered by a 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA), producing 18.4PS and 14.2Nm and is paired with a six-speed gearbox and slipper clutch. The suspension setup consists of an inverted fork and a monoshock while braking duties are taken care of by a 282mm front disc brake and a 220mm rear disc brake. In terms of features, the R15M gets all-LED lighting and LCD instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. It rivals the likes of the Suzuki Gixxer SF and the Hero Karizma XMR.

The Yamaha MT-15 is powered by the same engine as the R15M. The underpinnings and the features are also similar with the major difference between the two being that the R15M is a supersport while the MT-15 is a naked streetfighter. Its closest rival is the KTM 125 Duke with the other alternatives to consider being the Honda Hornet 2.0, Bajaj Pulsar NS200, and the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
